Does anyone else feel like they don't know what to toot about on here?

On the book of faces I'm mostly sharing political stuff in an attempt to change the minds of my unfortunately right wing contacts, while on the crazy bird site I'm mostly just telling Johnathan Gullis to get in the bin, and on [insert supposedly witty name for Instagram here] I'm mostly lurking and occasionally posting pics of my games or musical instruments.

But on here, I'm surrounded by like-minded people and I'm getting a good feed of current events, but I feel like it's just set up to be my news platform at the moment, and I'm not sure how or if I can or should contribute to that.

I assume hashtags work largely the same here as they do elsewhere?
