#NZTwits #WhereDoYousStay
I was born in #Newfoundland, an island - a few years after it stopped being a colony of the UK - and became the 10th province of #Canada
I have lived in Alberta and Nova Scotia.
I was brought by my Kiwi husband to New Zealand almost 30 years ago.
We settled briefly in East and South #Auckland. Then we found #Waiheke Island (bizarrely deemed part of Auckland CBD.) We love the place - the sea, the sky, the scenery, and the wonderful mixed bag of people here.

By the way #NZTwits, if you're looking for your locals, might I suggest you jump on @zyk's
#WhereDoYousStay thread from earlier this week?
You never know who on Mastodon.nz might be your neighbour 👀 😂
@zyk #WhereDoYousStay Originally brought up in a small settlement South of Timaru called Pareora, before moving into Timaru. Left home at 17 and joined the Navy in Auckland, 7 years there, 3 in Dunedin (studying/drinking) then back to Auckland's North Shore where I'm currently typing this out.
What could be a more #kiwi experience than finding out you live next door to someone's cousin, mastodon.nz?
Me? I'm originally from the mean streets of #TePuke or there abouts. Grew up in a tiny little village near there called Paengaroa. Spent a lot of time out #maketu ways growing up, too.
Moved away to big(ger) cities in aus for a while, and now I'm a little south of Christchurch enjoying the slow/smalltown life again.
What about the rest of you #NZTwits et al?
