Chesbro accomplished the feat in 1904 for the Yankees going 41-12 w a 1.82 ERA. Two years prior, he led the NL in wins with 28 for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Ed Walsh went 40-15 for the White Sox in 1908 with a 1.42 ERA. Walsh finished his career as the all-time leader in ERA (1.82).

LaMarr Hoyt led the AL in wins during the 1982 and 1983 seasons, going a combined 43-25, and won the 1983 Cy Young award while leading the White Sox to their 1st postseason appearance since 1959.
He followed those seasons up by leading the AL in losses in 1984.
