@f4grx in fact, I wrote this tool when I didn't have a #WifiModem module and hadn't patched BYE.COM. So I used telser for doing things remotely and was annoyed that by simply connecting you were able to use the command line.

And things get even better, as I noticed today that there are now 101 messages in the "General" message base of the "RC-BOX" #BBS #rc2014bbs (see my profile on info how to connect) - thank you all for that as well! 💻​

So here's a little video showing off the current message list of "RC-BOX" BBS, while I was logged in a few minutes ago using my #Modular64 #Commodore64 and a #SwiftLink #WifiModem and the #StrikeTerm terminal software.

@guidobibra yes, but do you know that there are geoTelnet and geoCBMTerm? Two new GEOS tools which utilize a modern userport #WifiModem to connect to #BBS systems? And that there is a new printer driver for GEOS called #ras4c64net that will also utilize a #WifiModem to print from GEOS to your #CUPS LAN printer?

If you are a #rc2014 user you may be interested in "ser2net" #Ser2Net which will allow you to use your #Linux box as telnet gateway to directly access your #FTDI serial adapter connected to your rc2014 and thus the console of the machine without the need of a #WiFiModem module and #ESPTerm.

Keep in mind that there's no authentication, once connected you will immediately given access to the rc2014 console!

The telnet connection will persist even when you reset your machine, displaying to you the whole #SCM or #RomWBW startup sequence. So it's like good old KVM console acces ...

@ricodegrumpy if you use an emulator such as #Vice you may experinece it all again. There's even "geoTelnet" and "geoCBMTerm" by Bo Zimmerman to connect to #BBS via #WifiModem or a #SerialConnection to a #PC

@jskists @rc2014 @Raspberry_Pi the question is: will exisiting #WiFiModem firmware suffice or will it be required to develop a special firmware for that particular job?!

I wanted to test my #wifimodem on the #uAX64MiniLong #commodore64 so I decided to combine that with running my custom GEOS 2.5 install (.D81 image via SD2IEC) and using geoTelnet.
