26 followers · 1097 posts · Server mastodon.gamedev.place@njamster Didn't see the post before, #Wildfrost is awesome 😄 But yeah there is way less deck building than in similiar card games (there is some and having lean deck can be quite important) but I can also see it being more tactical game than anything else. My favorite part of it is the simplicity of most mechanics. Don't have to read whole wiki before playing like in some card games. And than even with simple mechanics game still being hard/brutal.

However, it's cute art style for sure doesn't prepare you for how hard it is! Similarly to #Brotato it's very easy to loose even stellar runs if you're not careful.
It's also somewhat mismarketed as a deck builder, I feel. I'd say it's much more similar to a tactical game like #IntoTheBreach with huge emphasis on positioning your units properly and tanking hits in the right moment.

I'm fairly unsettled by the "Mixed" Steam reviews. Played the demo a while ago and... kinda liked it? Is the balancing really that bad? Or did people just went in with wrong difficulty expectations?
