🇦🇹 Gestern beim Wandern auf der Hohen Wand hab ich einen Lederlaufkäfer gesehen. Das ist ein ziemlich großer Käfer - fast 4cm lang.
🇬🇧 Yesterday while hiking on the Hohe Wand I saw a Carabus coriaceus beetle. This is a fairly large beetle - almost 4cm long.

While wandering through a paddock at sunset this evening the dogs and I came across this echidna doing its own sunset wandering. Unusually, it didn't curl up in a protective ball when it heard us but, rather, kept its head up to check us out. The dogs are well behaved and mostly ignored it.

Der Schwan war gut 15-20m vom Ufer weg, als das Frauchen mit dem Hund - mit Maulkorb - kam. Die beiden haben sich in die Augen gesehen, der Schwan ist sofort hergeschwommen, der Hund ins Wasser. Der Schwan hat den Hund in tieferes Wasser gelockt und ihn dann ordentlich bearbeitet und untergetaucht.
Als es der Hund wieder ans Ufer geschafft hat, hat er ordentlich Wasser gespuckt ... der Schwan hat die "Siegespose" eingenommen.
🇬🇧 Why dogs should be kept on a leash, especially during breeding season.
The swan was a good 15-20m away from the bank when the women with her dog came close. The dog had a muzzle on.
The swan and the dog looked into each other's eyes, the swan immediately swam over, the dog went into the water. The swan lured the dog into deeper water and then gave it a good work over and submerged it for quite some time.
When the dog made it finally back to the shore, it spat up a lot of water... the swan took the "victory pose".
