#OnThisDay, 22 Aug 1943, Yvonne Cormeau parachutes into France to be a radio operator for the British Special Operations Executive. The SOE supported the French Resistance to Nazi occupation.

#OnThisDay, 18 Mar 1943, Francine Agazarian arrives in Nazi-occupied France to be a courier in the Special Operations Executive. SOE was a secret British organisation working with the French resistance.

#OnThisDay, 22 Jan 1944, Sonia Olschanezky is arrested by the Gestapo. She had run an Special Operations Executive guerilla network near Paris after the leader was arrested.

She was killed at the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp six months later.
