As #WorldPressFreedomDay highlights the importance of unbiased reporting and access to information, special acknowledgement goes out to women journalists, whose safety continues to decrease.

On #WorldPressFreedomDay we remember Veronica Guerin, an Irish crime reporter who was shot and killed in June 1996 just outside Dublin. She was 37 years old.

President Roberta Metsola visited her memorial on her official state visit to Ireland earlier this year.
