The #Mughal ruler Bahadur Shah at his Court at #Agra or #Delhi #RedFort in this 1707 AD #Painting now at #DavidCollection #Denmark
This mesmerizing painting is by artist Bhavanidas who was an important artist at the Mughal court until 1719.
As the Mughal Empire began to decline, Bhavanidas lost the Royal patronage.
So, he migrated to the #Rajput kingdom of #Kishangarh #Rajasthan where he found work at the court of Raj Singh (ruled 1705-48 AD).

Firoz Minar in Gaur ~
built by Saifuddin Firuz Shah (1488-90 AD), the second ruler of the Abbyssinian Slave dynasty.
It is 25.6m (84ft) high and comprises five storeys, the first three of which are decorated with chain motifs while the upper two are covered with parallel borders. On each floor there is a door which faces west and an internal staircase of 73 steps leads to the top. It was originally associated with an accompanying mosque that no longer survives.
Free entry to #TajMahal today by Archaeological Survey of India (@ASIGoI) to mark the commencement of #WorldHeritageWeek.
However, the access to the marble areas of the mausoleum does attract a separate ticket that’s not exempt.
