A former Dragon Empire commando out for adventure and glory

A swashbuckling pirate who (thanks, dice) turned out to be awful at buckling swashes, but good at making deals with demons

A confused young infernalist, trying to hide the fact that he killed his best friend's mother

Thinking about XCrawl (Dungeons as entertainment) and I don't think D&D, Pathfinder or even DCC are what I'd want to use for it. I'm actually thinking Savage Worlds might be fun for it. Nothing solid to base this opinion on, just a feeling.

I want to like #xcrawl but it's just too 80s in a way that I don't understand

I was barely alive in the 80s, but as you might have noticed, I love action movies of the 80s, music, other stuff. But I have no "childhood frame of reference" of the 80s. Like I don't care much for 80s cartoons with counted exceptions

And that's where XCrawl seems to fit in: the teen 80s experience. I'm not sure I'm able to capture that feeling, but there's stuff I like in it. It just doesn't click as a whole idk

I've been introducing folks to level 0-2 play, trying to get sessions at Gen Con when I can, and eagerly awaiting #XCrawl DCC Edition!
