I have heard that Playstation controllers are hard to connect to the PC. So I went for the lesser evil.

Turns out #Xbox controllers are also a mess - not because people haven't tried, but because #Microsoft seems to have ignored adding support to these devices in the #Linux. This is evident from the innumerable number of 3rd party projects:
