I have found #birdtray to be a useful utility to show the status or #Thunderbird in my #KDE desktop. However, since version 102 of the #e-mail client, it stopped showing how many unread messages there were. I saw a discussion about it on the #Github site and there’s an #update which fixes that little #bug. So, I downloaded the #source and it works again after #compilation and #installation.

It is well known that #MacOSX is based on #BSD under the hood.
But I was completely unaware that #Apple in 1988 already had a Unix OS named "A/UX" for their M68k platform. It was installable from and was integrated w/ MacOS 7.
A/UX was not only able to run the #XWindowSystem, but also the classic Apple finder GUI and MacOS applications.

#Programming graphical applications for the #XWindowSystem under #SunOS, #Solaris (and #Linux, later) was a real pain in the a**, even when using the #XToolkit or even #XView.
Fortunately, I saved some literature from the trashbin to remind me of that ;-)

My #laptop works very well these days with external #monitors and #projectos via #HDMI but also #VGA connections. Is it possible to connect it to a #tablet so that I could do some freehand annotation of #PDF documents, for example? #KDE just makes the new #screen a virtual extension of the laptop’s own monitor.
