Ich bin voller Vorfreude. Mein neues #StagePiano, #Yamaha P121 wird heute versandt werden. Ich hatte bis vor einer Woche nicht gewusst, dass es unter Instrumenten mit gewichteten Tasten überhaupt welche mit weniger als 88 Tasten gibt. Das P121 hat alle Funktionen des auf #Youtube für #PreisLeistung sehr gelobten P125, ist dank 73 Tasten anstatt derer 88 aber erheblich leichter und kürzer - daher transportfreundlich und auch zuhause mit Holz-Unterbau mit einem schicken und kleinen Footprint.

It was a nice, sunny fall day, so I took the opportunity to exercise the #Yamaha FZ09 #motorcycle. It was nice to get outside and nice to reconnect with the bike. It's so playful and snarls when it revs.

I rode to the hospital where my aunt is. She's been doing dialysis for decades and is now old and frail, curled up on the bed when I find her room, "there" but with clear discomfort.

"I am dying" she said to me. And she's not wrong. The words are sitting with me now, hours later.

We talked about the old times and how she came to the United States as a 25-year-old nurse and how she wasn't afraid because other Filipino nurses came too and we created proxy families (she's not really my aunt, genealogically-speaking but she is my aunt) and how she's lived in the US more years than in the Philippines and we called my mom so that she could speak to her old roommate from the 1960s.

She had to go take a diagnostic test so the nurses used a transfer board to move her onto a gurney. She so's skinny though; I could have picked her up no problem.

I said my goodbyes as they were wheeling her down the hall. I kissed her on the forehead.

And then I rode home and basked in the late afternoon glow of the sun, listening to music, revving the motor, and thinking that this may be the last time that I speak with my tita.

We started our first season running #Stock1000 (our stock liter bike class) with a #superbike round at #COTA in #Texas. Sean Thomas from Longmont CO piloted our #Yamaha #YamahaR1 machine for the early season.

#Yamaha has a lot of failures to answer for in Vocaloid 5, mainly in marketing, 3rd party support, lack of diversity in voicebanks, and their basic abandoning of the platform to chase "AI" tech, but I don't think the Vocaloid 5 Editor, CyVa, or Songman were part of the problem.

Really outside of price, which is a personal problem and not something I am willing to argue, I don't know where a lot of the anti-Vocaloid 5 sentiment comes from.
