#BlackMastodon , I tried to have a conversation about #Ye with a black friend today. She is dead set that he is right about his comments. I feel like an ass for saying something to her as a white person, but his comments directly impact myself and my family as queer people, and we have people in our lives who are Jewish. I hope I was respectful to her about it, but I felt like I had to say something. Ye has been making Nazi talking points a thing. Did I do the wrong thing?

There are two reasons someone would engage in Holocaust denial:

1) they like all of what Hitler did but get a bit queasy around the idea of murder factories.

2) they're a disingenuous Nazi who knows the camps are indefensible to anyone who isn't exactly like them and are actively lying to cloud the issue & lure in recruits.

#Ye is probably option 1 while #NickFuentes would more likely be option 2.
