We say this every year. I think there is a chance that 2023 could be the #YearOfTheFediverse at the very least.

We have something far better here, not just technically but as a social community, where instances can be managed by individuals, Mastodon integrates with other services such as peertube too.

People are sick of data collection and been seen as a source of data / finance for a corporate income stream.

Welcome to 2023 if the trend carries on then 2023 will truly be #YearOfTheFediverse

This sounds like a really good opportunity for the Fediverse to reach out and see if we can get them on to the decentralised platform.

They are looking for an alternative that is safer, well we may not be perfect but they will have more control with their own instance

Same goes for Youtube -> peertube instance.

This 3 to 7.5% rule has been widely documented as the #criticalMass generally needed. Once a movement reaches and is buoyed by 7.5 percent, it's a win.

The path to 7.5% is still tough though.

It will be a path of #directAction and getting #NEOeD but more acheivable than 100%, right?!

The tag “ #YearOfTheFediverse “ was suggested by the creator of the graphic so I am using that as for me it is a nice tag.

I like the e-mail analogy to describe the fediverse, I used to earlier at a meeting to explain what the fediverse is, so yeah it is a nice way to explain.
