Spotted just now outside, a Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo.
There were several around (I could hear them calling), feeding in the tops of the trees.
Somewhat larger than the Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, and with a slightly more melodious call. These birds are capable of breaking deep into the trunks of trees in search of grubs.
They are also colloquially associated with incoming rain.
