Nieuw gevonden witte dwerg heeft twee gezichten

ZTF J203349.8+322901.1, bijgenaamd Janus naar de Romeinse god met twee gezichten, is een overgangs witte dwerg met twee gezichten: de ene kant van zijn atmosfeer wordt gedomineerd door waterstof en de andere door helium.

Und hier noch einmal der Komet als Suchbild bei 75 mm Brennweite, Summe aus 40 Bildern (je 4 s, f/3,2 bei ISO 6400). Stack mit SiriL, Nachbearbeitung mit Gimp. Neben dem Kometen sind die offenen Sternhaufen im Fuhrmann, die Wintermilchstraße mit Dunkelwolke gut zu erkennen, den Kaliforniennebel kann man rechts oben erahnen und Mars leuchtet rechts unten. #Astrofoto #Komet #ZTF #Mars #Milchstraße

Gestern Abend auch mal schnell auf den Kometen gehalten, bevor der Mond zu hell schien. Quick'n dirty Ausschnitt aus einem Stack aus 39 Bildern (jeweils 2 s, f/2,8 bei ISO6400 und f=200 mm). Mehr oder weniger gelungene amateurhafte Nachbearbeitung in Gimp. #Komet #ZTF #comet2022e3ztf #Komet2022E3

Finally had a chance of taking some pictures of #comet C/2022 E3 #ZTF... after a couple of weeks of clouds. Not bad despite no tracking, Moon and #Hannover's light pollution!

Still very easy to find with #binoculars, but notably fainter and smaller than 10 days ago.

Could see the #comet yesterday. Straight up as you described it. The comet is really small/faint but visible with binoculars. Capella as a point of reference helped a lot.

Well the scope is ready to go tonight, I just need the cloud to cooperate & maybe the moon too, SkySafari is connected and I've done a daylight polar alignment with the HEQ5 (I'll refine tonight).

Hunting buddy heater and ice fishing hut will keep me company in the yard lol.

For #comet hunters: C/2022 E3 (#ZTF) will be travelling high up in the northern sky, between the Great and Little Bear, during the next days. A good pair of binoculars should do to see the green fellow (weather permitting, of course).

Love my neighbors motion sensing lights. Where I live gets dark enough to see C/2022 E3 ZTF with the naked eye, but every time I’m trying to look and or take photos, their lights illuminate my entire yard.

It is impossible trying to keep dark to be able to catch a glimpse of this 50,000 year comet orbit event happening for the first time since the Stone Age.
We are why we can’t have the nice things.

Markus Dähne von der #Beobachtergruppe Sternwarte @deutschesmuseum hat bei Sauerlach (südl. v. München) am 26.12.2022 diese beeindruckende Aufnahme d. #Kometen C/2022 E3 (#ZTF) gemacht.
Ende Januar erreicht er evtl. die 5. Größe.
