Here is the latest version of the #InternationalChronostratigraphicChart. The changes for this version include the addition of a #GSSP for the #BarremianStage in the #Cretaceous.

I have not been able to find any information on the vote regarding the #Anthropocene at the recent #AAAS meeting. Does anyone know the outcome of that vote. This is something that needs to be adopted and placed on the next chart.

The paper "Seismic detection of the Martian core" by Stähler et al. (2021) was just awarded the 2023 #AAAS Newcomb Cleveland prize for the best paper published in the journal Science. Members of #IPGP that participated in this study include Philippe Lognonné, Henri Samuel, Éléonore Stutzmann, Zongbo Xu, Taichi Kawamura and Matthieu Plasman. In this paper, seismic data from the #InSight mission were used to determine the size of the iron core of #Mars. Congratulations !

This article on the #AAAS has me SMH. They want a prime directive for space exploration, but can't even get the guts to establish a scientific policy that repudiates the concept of race? Glad their protecting the martians. Too bad they can't product us.
