My understanding is that communities of color aren’t always the fondest of BIPOC as a term, and I think I would be more inclined, based on what I have seen requested, is to use multiple hashtags, depending on who I’m speaking of #AAPIMastodon #IndigenousMastodon #BlackMastodon Etc.

Absent any other prevailing requests, that is what I’m trying to do. Unless, of course, communities ask us otherwise.

Hive mind: Does anyone know if an umbrella term has emerged for #BIPOC and #PeopleOfColor who are on Mastodon? I've had some interesting discussions recently about parallels to #BlackMastodon for people of Asian descent (i.e.,#APIFedi vs. #AsianMastodon vs. #AAPIMastodon vs. #APIMastodon). But is there such a thing (yet) as #BIPOCMastodon or #MastodoniansOfColor? ✊ @DrCAleaseSmith @Tamaki

@Tamaki I don't know whether there is a hashtag for #AAPIFedi, or #AAPIMastodon, but you are welcome to spread them in the Fediverse in hopes AAPI people will connect like we do with #blackmastodon
