@nm I have sent an email to #AnimalsAustralia and the #AnimalJusticeParty (Australia) asking them if they would be interested in having a presence on Mastodon, but you are welcome to email them as well as you would be asking them officially. โบ๏ธ
I would also like to recommend: #VeganSociety (UK), #VeganAustralia, #PHAIRsociety, #PlantBasedNews, #SharkLab, #abillion, #voiceless (Australian), #AnimalLiberationVictoria, and possibly the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (#PCRM) - founded by Dr Neil Bernard.
If I think of any more I will let you know!

@tom_andraszek Ah I see. This would be different for everyone as we all have different circumstances but I suppose I am in a lucky (privileged?) position where these things don't apply to me, or I don't let them.
When visiting others, I expect there to be vegan food provided or I would simply not eat anything there. On the weekend we went to a birthday and they were kind enough to provide us with vegan dishes. No hard feelings if they chose not to provide us anything, good on them if they do.
With travelling, it's true that in many parts of the world you would struggle to find good vegan food, the last place I travelled was in the UK, which is practically a Mecca when it comes to vegan food. If I travel around Australia I have to do research to make sure shops and restaurants can cater to us and if not I will stop in the local Woolies and get some tasty treats! It does mean that if I want to go to a country, and there are no vegan food options, I would have to skip the trip or choose somewhere where it's more friendly. I have also been using the apps #HappyCow and #abillion to help with this!
But again, all easier said than done!
@francis Glad to hear it Francis! It is always harder to eat #vegan food when on holiday. When I went to the UK recently I used the #HappyCow app and the #abillion app to help me find good vegan restaurants and cafes. Not sure what things are like in Brazil and Portugal though in terms of food options.
I am back from my holiday in the #UK. Me and the family had a fantastic time there, despite the cold wet weather!
I said it as soon as I arrived in #London, but I can confirm this with everywhere around the UK where we went, and we loved this tremendously, was all the #vegan options at the supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants. Easily, the 'vegan scene' in the UK is streets ahead (perhaps 10 years ahead) compared to #Australia.
I will post lots of food pics here (with links via the #abillion app), over the coming months, safe to say though that I wish there were as many options here as there were in the UK.

What does a #vegan do when they want to make an omelette?
Cry?
Wrong!
They use an egg alternative! ๐ Here is another post from earthmamavegan that I want to share with you all, via #abillion:
Vegan Easy Egg #No๐ฅRequired
During primary school and high school days, breakfast would involve eating cereal (with full fat and pus cow milk of course because "calcium tho"). Because I wanted to be healthy. ๐
On the weekends, that's when the party started, and we got to have cheat days and eat unhealthy fried food. And a chicken omelette with lots of cow cheese and pig sausage slices was the perfect way to start the weekend.
Times have changed. I no longer go to school. I am no longer a little kid. I no longer need animal products. I probably don't even need vegan omelettes. But this egg substitute is pretty damn good for those occasions when I feel like treating myself for a hearty weekend breakfast. Or even, a weekday dinner. ๐คฃ

I went out to a restaurant with a few work colleagues. I spoke with one of them prior and had a long conversation of how I no longer eat meat and why I am #VeganForTheAnimals. And so a few days after the convo, he came up to me and said that we should catch up, and I should choose the restaurant to make sure it has #vegan options for me! It was really kind of him to suggest this. So I suggested Mexican. It had the usual things you can imagine and also a little vegan section too!
I ended up ordering two dishes, one burrito ๐ฏ and one taco ๐ฎ (I was hungry!). I posted a review of the burrito in the #abillion app:

We went as a group and there were no other #vegans so the others chose foods filled with animals.
The topic of #veganism didn't get brought up. Because of course:
-I had to be polite and let the conversation strike naturally.
-I couldn't be preachy.
-I couldn't offend anyone.
-I couldn't bring up how my burrito and taco are indistinguishable from the animal versions I had years ago.
-I couldn't make anyone uncomfortable while eating their meal.
No confrontation. No resistance. No change. That's the problem with 'you do you and I do me'. It won't save the animals. It won't change a thing.
I lack the courage to tell people to #GoVegan in real life. Thankfully most vegans you know are annoying. Unlike me. ๐

Veggie Hero ๐ฅ #Vegetables
As first time parents to a cheecky munchkin, and perhaps even more daunting, as #VeganParents raising a bundle of joy on a vegan diet (scary I l know, but we aren't trailblazers by a long shot!), we felt that this product was a good addition to sprinkle on his meals just to ensure he isn't missing out. He is hitting all the developmental milestones, is keen to climb, crawl and explore the entire house, so we aren't worried from the propaganda (but he needs eggs for protein ๐๐), but just to be on the safe side, we feel like products like this are a good insurance.
