Someone started a Kickstarter for developing #Abode, a "pay once, get updates for life" alternative to #Adobe's suite of Creative Cloud applications:

My 2 cents: I'm slightly skeptical about the feasibility of the project's proposed timeline (although the FAQ mentions they're building on existing open source software).

Also not entirely convinced about the long-term sustainability of a business model like this. Would love to be proven wrong on both of course!
