- when seeking to overcome barriers to abortion care (e.g., time, travel, costs), people may be forced to disclose their abortion to people they prefer not to.
- unwanted abortion disclosure is associated with symptoms of #depression, #anxiety, and #stress.
- people had more symptoms of depression and stress when one or more person or the man involved in the pregnancy supported their decision “not at all” (vs “very much” support).

Authors suggest feminist abortion accompaniment models may actively destigmatise abortion by focusing on #PersonCentered support, #SelfDetermination, and #Autonomy to enable people seeking abortion to view their decision as valid and legitimate, and resist dominant stigmatising framing of abortion.
