The Government of Alberta has doubled-down on its ignorance of the role of universities in civil society, as it fires Athabasca University's president, Dr. Peter Scott, for opposing its demand for AU employees to live in Athabasca.

AU is an online university. It's not responsible for the economic well being of Athabasca. It's responsible for producing knowledge and teaching students.
