Abused children often exhibit a "freezing" response, where they keep their arms still & avoid eye contact in the presence of an abusive parent or adult. This behavior is a survival mechanism, allowing them to "hide in the open.

Because yes there's a dog bed on the human bed and yes, one of the cats has stolen it.
Today is EMDR treatment day. I'll be laying low with some easy knitting. And as much as it'll be hard fucking work, I'm so very grateful for everyone who donated so I could access treatment. Slowly but surely my mental health is improving.
