The after-shocks and traumas of the pandemic as still here and are real but it is very difficult to observe and process and name them whilst still being affected by them.

Amongst the many consequences of #AcademicPrecarity are the effects on academic planning:
expert talks & invited speakers may no longer be available due to contract terminations and overall #GoodWill simply running out of steam, the same good will that so much of #academia relies on.
I speak from a position of relative current privilege and from very many years of being on #FixedTermContracts - there is a heck of a lot of #FreeLabour in academia, permanent or not.

Today's recap: in the morning PhDs gather for discussing #academicprecarity, then i held an afternoon class on #poverty and the biases of development practice, capped off by yelling at a racist on the bus from work.
