@crossgolf_rebel @mastodir @quinnanya I don’t think @mastodir was made for the kind of use #AcademicsOnMastodon covers. Also, it’s already widely recognized in the academic community. And while I also have my opinions on Google services, I think more important is that people stepped up and created something that helps the community in question.

The worst part of diving deep into literature and reading to get some serious research done is my mind constantly very, very loudly pointing out connections to things I already know, have read, can reevaluate in the light of the arguments being presented in the text before me. Yes, my dear mind, this is what we are good at - but could you just STFU until I am done reading? #AcademicsOnMastodon

@KouMurayama I seem to have the same problem with #epidemiology #publichealth #epiverse. I follow the hashtags, looked at the #academicsonmastodon lists, but it seems more difficult to find them (whereas #neuro people seem to be everywhere haha). It may just take time? 🙆

Every single time I've brought up my consulting, I've gone out of my way to say I am NOT a therapist or licensed counselor.

I don't do treatment or therapy because I'm not trained to.

So when anyone out there says I'm "claiming to be a clinical psychologist" they are wrong or they are straight up shilling for Scientology, because that group attacks its critics any way they can. I've always been very open about my credentials.
