Lately I have been seeing so many posts with images and they are not including descriptions for accessibility.

If you are posting images please always put a description saying what is or what it's showing so people with disability can understand what they are seeing.

I just noticed that when I add a caption/ #AltText to #images on Tusky, it's not available outside of Tusky. Is this correct or am I missing something? And if this is a known issue, what is the best work around for this? Should I just add images when accessing from the browser/Mastodon app?

@devinprater Yeah. I used to have a number of emojis in my name until I had a conversation with someone using a screenreader. I got to hear what it told them every time I sent a message, and it was just painful hearing it read aloud half a dozen emoji names, every. single. message. Over and over.

My suggestion:
If your user name has a ton of emojis/special characters, remove them and replace with a simple word or two that can actually be pronounced by a screen reader.
