The sunflower car parking spaces are in a safe location, not immediately located beside the road and are the same dimensions as a wheelchair #accessible parking space.

i.e. your post won't show up in a search of a hashtag that wasn't in the original post. So if you realise there are some relevant hashtags you should add to a post, then you will actually need to make that post again from scratch in order for it to show up in searches!
In regards to #readability #accessibility you should always use #PascalCase (every word starts with a capital) or #camelCase (first word lower-case, then capitals for subsequent words). Don't use #snake_case (underscores)...

> when will Linux be good for a non tech blind person?
Linux is a kernel. You use it every day, in almost every device that isn't made by Apple or running Windows.
I think what you want to know is, are there GNU/Linux distros with good accessibility for non-geeks?
Have you tried Trisquel.info?Accessibility is a top priority for the distro and one of our core community members depends on a screenreader.

How are #web devs handling the UI pattern of a big clickable area with text, images, and other clickable stuff inside it?
Example: A Mastodon post has links inside it but can also be clicked to show the reply thread.
I know how to implement this all in JS, but mostly concerned about the #accessibility and #usability implications. My recollection is that some screenreaders do not handle nested links in buttons well and even apart from that, there's the general ambiguity of "wait, they clicked a link inside a button -- which onClick handler did they intend to fire?"

Has anyone got, seen, or can make up mock-ups of how points of light (or... very bright text on a dark background) can look to someone who suffers halos with astigmatism?
If yes to any of the above, may I use them in a talk?
Thank yooouuuu in advance!

Good evening mastofolks. Today, I performed my first #accessibility test on a mobile app that's currently available as a stable release.
I tested my first website in 2018, but up until now, I have only tested beta-stage websites and apps. So today was a major breakthrough.
Currently, I test sites and apps on Windows and Android only. I mainly focus on #UX (user experience) testing, to ensure that websites and apps are ACE!
A: Accessible for #ScreenReader users.
C: Clear and transparent.
E: Easy to navigate.
So, if anybody wants their website, or app, testing, please feel free to send me a direct message.

If you're on Mac, VoiceOver and Safari is a good place to start. On Windows, NVDA and Chrome (JAWS is the most popular screen reader but not free)
#accessibility
When getting into #accessibility, a lot of people will try VoiceOver screen reader with Chrome, as that's what's closest to hand.
It's really important to know that screen reader/browser combos all act quite differently, and that specific one is relatively uncommon.
The WebAIM survey is a good place to get a better understanding of the tools people use

After seeing it recommended here, I've tried loading one of my primary email accounts into #Betterbird and I'm giving it a whirl. Unfortunately, every time I move through the message list, I get an alert about Betterbird not allowing remote content for privacy. This alert interrupts the reading of the selected message, every single time. I don't see anything in the settings on suppressing it beyond allowing all remote content, which is an absolute non-starter. #accessibility
Alright. We are slowly, very slowly, getting into a season where there's more to show. So!
In an hour, join me over at the game4access Twitch channel where I will be taking a look at #slayTheSpire and how it can be played when fully #blind. We'll be discussing this #game's #accessibility as we play it and no doubt get horribly destroyed multiple times. https://twitch.tv/game4access is where it's at. #selfPromo #twitch #streamer

Opened my first ticket for the new gig. No surprise, I started with an #accessibility issue.

#accessibility isn't just about physical stuff. it's also about neurodivergency
This morning's example a Captcha asking me to select all the images with motorcycles.
Only 1 of these images has a motorcycle. They WANT me to say that 4 of them do. They do not. That is a lie. The other 3 are scooters.
a) my #ActuallyAutistic 🧠 WANTS to answer correctly
b) by lying (to get past it) I'm training image recognition software to do a WORSE job which will negatively impact people down the road.

Why do so many modern games have tiny text? (8min) https://www.eurogamer.net/why-do-so-many-modern-games-have-tiny-text
That's an issue that comes again and again in a lot of games, it’s worse on local coop, for example, Tiny Tina Wonderlands makes it next to impossible to read any weapon description, subtitles are minuscule and so on. I’ve never understood why we could not have a setting to make the font bigger when needed

Next was a wide-ranging talk by Robin Brewer on #AI for #accessibility at the Michigan AI Laboratory. I loved the use of qualitative data collection up front to center particular communities in the development process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atyN7blFrmM (12/13)
