Accesibility Overlays are not reliable and are actually harming the accessible web.

question:

Today during my user testing, it happened that the widget button disappeared after making changes in the widget and then navigating the website. For example, the participant navigated from the Home to the About page. As soon as they reached the About page, the widget was gone. Only after reloading the website did the widget appear again, but 50% of the time, the changes made were lost.

Has anybody else experienced the same thing? We used Chrome. šŸ¤”

I declined a position at a big global company today. It would have been a topic of interest (a thesis about web ), but something just felt off. šŸ˜¬

They would not me and clarified that they were more interested in my implementation than my findings, which is weird if you want me to write a master thesis for you.

Luckily I already have another topic Iā€˜m thrilled about ā€“ šŸ¤“ But kind of disappointing still.

@kf4yfa Exactly, and I always feel that most of the companies either exist as a tax haven or method of suckering investors and governments into doling out money, or are able-bodied people enamored with their code with no concept of actual assistive technology and how to use it effectively, or both.

@aardrian I just saw a website with and was at first swayed by the bells and whistles of it all... but this gives me some thought... and pause.
