The announcement by Apple that soon you will be able to use a #FIDO2 security key to secure your Apple ID is excellent. Would love to hear more detail on their #AccountRecovery options to allay people's concerns (I'm hearing they'll have social recovery),

Seems like we should have some best practices for both the instance admins and the users.

And also a clear path out of the server failure.

What might that look like?

For starters off the top of my head..

I would have another backup instance ready to go at anytime. Backup my main instance data once per day (after midnight). Test it all once a month to make sure I can recover. All this needs to be accomplished remotely.

For users - backup my data once a week.
