Neat fiftieth anniversary Charger at the maintenance facility today. Not sure if the whole east coast fleet lives here right now, but there are a lot of them. Seems like it was mostly in the yard at 30th Street in last time I passed through

I would love to see an actual mock-up (in model form, or computer render) of what the proposed Amtrak X2000 for the Acela would have looked like.
But no, can only find images of what the borrowed X2000 from Sweden looked like when doing PR-runs in the US.

The Amtrak First Class attendant has a deft and skill of knowing the route, adding a paper napkin, which adds resistance between the glass and the table, so nothing shifts too much.

On board Acela again this AM, heading back to Boston from Washington DC. We’re looking forward to getting underway and our hot breakfast being served.

We’re a little bit disappointed that the menu is the same as Thursday. The food was awesome, and I’m sure it will be again, but we’d have loved to try a few different today. Luck of the draw. We’ll just have to ride again!

Zipping along nicely this morning on Acela. Topping out at 150mph, we’re flying down the east coast. Nice and relaxing. Surprisingly good food. It’s our favorite way to travel!
