Ok, not all days are hard on big mountains. Sometimes you get a mule ride crossing a stream so you don't have to get wet and cold early in the morning. 🐴 No one fell off, so it was a success. 😅

Am 14. Januar 1897, heute vor 126 Jahren, bestieg Matthias Zurbriggen als erster Mensch den Aconcagua.

Mit 6961 m ist der Aconcagua in den argentinischen Anden der höchste Berg außerhalb Asiens und war der bis dahin höchste bestiegene Berg. Der Schweizer Bergführer Zurbriggen aus Saas-Fee war Expeditionsleiter einer Expedition des Briten Edward FitzGerald.
