So I downloaded the binary release of #acreloaded to my persistent #PuppyLinux drive thinking "alright, now I can have a truly portable gaming solution!"

And it did work, save for a few graphical sprite glitches. But on the second try, it stopped loading :(

Come to think of it, the #cube engine (core of FPS games) is quite impressive in terms of its derivatives it has spawned. It has powered or based the following games among others:

- #Sauerbraten (aka Cube2, cartoon-like shooter)
- #AssaultCube (and derivatives like #acreloaded)
- #RedEclipse (high-end graphics, Halo-like)

Talk about an example of the power of #freesoftware when it comes to adapting and improving things!
