Being an #ActualAutistic in good standing, I have often wondered why Venetian blinds aren't automatically adjusted for best #HVAC practice.

@lkh I realized during that phase, that support for #neurodivergend people especially for #actualautistic people strongly depends on individuals. Even if, it is their job to provide support. And yes, it should not be like that.

@adelinej Will those supposed experts in #Autism listen to an #ActualAutistic talking about the shortcomings of autistic research, and treatment, and making perfect sense? One can only hope.

Learned I was #ActualAutistic at 31. A year and half later and I realize I’ve been grieving the person who I thought I was and the person I thought I was capable of. I’ve realized that as an autistic, there are some things I am not capable of, or at least simultaneously. I’ve had to lower my standard of what it means to be good at my job as it takes away my focus on my family. I don’t think it’s possible for me to work a 40 hour week, at least until the kids are grown. As someone who has been defined by their career since high school, damn this has hurt. @actuallyautistic

@hastyunicorn @actuallyautistic Mainstream has Cognitive Deliberate Ignorance Disorder. What they don't choose to see, is ignored in the hopes it will go away.
Their attention is directed towards children, and their aim is to 'cure' autism.
BTW, I am an elderly self-diagnosed #ActualAutistic, and it is my belief that the psychological health community is collectively lazy.

Although I driving in cities often brought me close to a meltdown, the alternative of using public transport always felt worse, especially concerning sensory issues.
After years of #AutisticBurnout both is close to impossible for me, so I depend on people driving me to places I can't reach by foot.
For me this is one aspect of being disabled as an #ActualAutistic person.

I paused super frequent flying five years ago, yet have moved the "for every scenario" bags for three long distance relocations since then. So much for fooling myself I'm rigorous about divesting from #stuff.
