@being this is a late answer, but you might want to ask in the #actualBudget discord -- https://actualbudget.github.io/docs/Contact/
(that's where I just quickly found an answer to my oops-I-lost-my-local-password question)
Ooh, #actualBudget looks like it might be exactly what I need. Just need to be able to import transactions and categorize to keep a handle on my spending.
Up and running locally in about 5 minutes. ✅ Imported transactions and categorizing the heck out of things 3 minutes later. ✅
Now frustrated that I can't spend the day doing this, but... #caregiver duties call...
(goodbye #intuit #mint -- I was never comfortable with them having access to my accounts)
#actualbudget #caregiver #intuit #mint #personalfinance
Anyone have experience using Actual (the budgeting software)? I have an instance running but I would like to connect it to my banks' API and idk if there's forks for anything like that

@stoertebeker getting data control on traditional finance is not as easy.😅 The options are not as great or at least as fluid as these companies that make their business for these products.
Not because OSS can't do it, but because finance tends to have extraordinary level of proprietary hurdles.
Still, I did find recently an option called #actualbudget. Haven't yet tried it myself, but reading about it gives impression of a strip down #YNAB. 😎
