I didn't quite meet my word count goal, but I am entirely satisfied with this #AcWriMo! In the past I've tapped out after hitting a dry spell, but it's been nice to track it the whole month and put both the good days and the bad days in context.

So #AcWriMo2022 was a giant, giant success for me: making the mental commitment to participate allowed me to do some sort of writing work (however small) for all 30 days, which greatly advanced by book project. It was probably the most productive month of my career -- but I don't feel like I burned myself out with the pace. I'm going to try to keep a similar practice in place!

I finished my chapter today on jealousy in #Shakespeare. Once again, I must say that committing to Academic Writing Month has had a remarkable effect for me. The end of this book is starting to appear in the distance!

If I'm going to post on the good days I should probably post on the bad days, too. I didn't manage to write today because I had a lot of teaching, service, and email to clear out. Also I bought Christmas presents for my family 😆 Which was not strictly necessary to accomplish today but productive procrastination is definitely my procrastination style.

It's okay, though. I'll write tomorrow. Failures are part of the process of academic writing.
