COMPUTER SCIENCE. Speaking of trends, there is a growing interest in "live coding," or programming computer applications as they're running. So far, that has mostly been the domain of live art performances. I'm of the view that real-time system evolution will dovetail with this computer-science niche if the right interfaces emerge. Anyway, a new book on the subject dropped today. And it's free.
