Funnily enough, Netflix's atrocious flashing banner ads are what finally prodded me to start using an ad blocker in 2003. I then started e-mailing lists of unblocked ads to AdFree's maintainer, then contributed to to HP's and MVP Hosts Files, and eventually maintained my own "Filterlst V" for the original AdBlock for #Firefox. This would also be useful in other contexts. For instance, I only watch YouTube through RSS subscription on @NetNewsWire. If I could have NNW modify the address then clicking the link in the feed would load the video only, rather than the full YT UI.

Creo que en la vida he hecho click a propósito en un anuncio de Internet y que las únicas veces en las que he entrado en alguno ha sido sin querer intentando cerrarlo con un botón del tamaño de la longitud de Planck. En esas ocasiones salgo cabreado con la página que lo tenía y con el producto que intentaban venderme y obviamente no compraba nada. Así pues, desde que uso un adblocker, ni entro donde no quiero ni hay páginas que cabrean a un visitante ni empresas que cabrean a un posible cliente. Todos salimos ganando.
¿De verdad creéis, señores de Google, que bloquear los adblockers va a beneficiar a alguien?

#Google est sa bannière anti #Adblock... À la base j'étais contre les bloqueurs de pubs, et sur #youtube ça passait. Depuis quelques semaines c'est infernal. J'ai donc coupé les pubs. Ils ne comprennent pas que plus ils mettent de pubs, plus on les bloque. S'ils ne veulent pas qu'on les bloque, il suffisait de laisser comme c'était. Mais là, certaines vidéos sont coupées de 30s de pub toutes les 2 minutes.
