I’ve been watching videos from a #YouTube creator that my daughter likes, Max0r, and I’ve determined that this man is single-handedly responsible for the current #Adderall shortage

I have been a mess for the past 5-ish months from an #ADHD standpoint due to the whole #Adderall shortage and then my insurance inventing new hoops to jump through to get put on literally anything else.

Discouraged and more or less hopeless, I finally broke down and tried a certain product (which is comprised of like 3 supplements) hocked by a certain mega ultra famous podcaster/ufc commentator/comedian and as much as I hate to admit it, I must say it worked tremendously at warding off my #ADHD demons and allowed me to focus (quite intensely) on my tasks at my job.

I was getting to my breaking point at work. My productivity and performance were slipping as a result of my inability to focus. My boss ultimately was like “You’ve been missing your mark and we’ve talked about it and talked about it and i’m almost done just talking about it”.

I had the most productive day in a very long time. This product is wildly overpriced for the amount of doses you are given. The supplements can be purchased for much cheaper separately which is how I will continue this supplementation going forward.

#ADHD as with many other conditions can have very serious, real world effects, if not taken care of. I advise or encourage anyone who might be struggling with something in your life, to try something new. There’s no way to know what solutions for life’s problems are out there unless you go looking for them.

@techsuppork it's all exhausting tbh.

The past few years I went from:

Undiagnosed.

Realizing I have a problem and seeking diagnosis.

Getting that diagnosis.

Trying to manage the medication's ability to exasperate my anxiety.

Trying to manage friends and family that don't understand the disorder and the changes in my mood and habits I was going through.

Accepting that I am not #neurotypical and these "friends" didn't want to even try to understand.

Cutting them out of my life and being personally lonely, while at the same time realizing I am not alone in my thoughts, habits and behavior and accepting that I'm different. I am different, but millions of others are different too and none of us have to feel alone in our "craziness" that is our brains.

I'd written this snarky, stat-filled comment in reply to the bros supporting the utterly bullshit 'this can only be a symptom of late-stage #capitalism' article from the #WSJ called the "Bosses’ New Task Is Figuring Out Who’s High at Work."

Instead, I'll share it here for posterity:

The #FDA has approved 20,000+ drugs that can be directly marketed to consumers. 70% of Americans take one or more daily. 24.5% of college students are taking some form of #antidepressants. 45 million prescriptions written for #Adderall in 2020, causing a global shortage. Meanwhile, while nearly half of Americans tried #cannabis at some point, only 13% reported using it in the last 30 days — a far cry from the 70% that have taken an Rx in that same time period.

After almost a year of interrupted or unavailable #Adderall I finally have a new psych NP and a new prescription for #Vyvanse and I’m almost in tears imagining actually being able to do my job, manage relationships, !READ! without constant force and terror of failure. I needed to try something new anyways, Adderall effectiveness was reducing after 7+ years, although I’m not looking forward to the month long process to find the right dose again.
