@Glim virtual hugs :ablobcatattentionreverse: remember to clarify the diagnosis with the doctor or consultant. I didn't, and only found out three months later that he'd already diagnosed me. He didn't specifically say he had and I thought there was some further test or assessment to come. My appointments are every three months, so that was a lot of extra anxiety! :blobcat_cwy:

Turns out he had diagnosed me, but I got no letter, report, nada! My autistic partner, got a 6 page report on his diagnosis, and a zoom call meeting if I recall correctly, which was very useful. I asked my consultant if I was due a letter or report, and he looked at me quizzically, and said "why do you need a report?" 🤦🏻‍♀️

My experience with a neuro-psych evaluation:

-8 hours long, spread over 2 days, not counting results.

- over 500 questions on paper, 2 hour interview + interview of loved one, they prefer to interview a caregiver from patient's childhood.

-Puzzles, etc designed to test attention span, frustration tolerance, ability to understand tone, facial expressions, etc. #APD made these harder.

@kyropoulos Feeling you on the late #ADHDdiagnosis & #neurodivergent arts communities. Makes total sense, doesn’t it? 🙂 #Neurodivergent diagnoses transform and even save lives. Am also a #lifecoach (of course: many hats!) & while I’ve helped many clients recognize that they should explore an #ADHD diagnosis, I don’t specifically work with the daily challenges as you seem to do. Kudos and high five!
