It is important to understand that there are not piles and piles of orphans in South Korea. What there is, is an extremely conservative view of the family unit, and this does not allow you to be unmarried, when you have a child or, god forbid, a single mother. All of the children being adopted, have parents who are not allowed to keep them.

We shouldn't promote adoption, we should promote family preservation.

Since his #AdoptionDay Danny has also become very affectionate and cuddly, demanding pets and scritches and showing his appreciation with huge, loud purrs. But as soon as the petting stops, he's gone! Danny likes to watch nature documentaries on TV and also to watch the birds that come up to the window feeders. He also is taking a long time to warm up to his "little brother" who we adopted in early October, and Danny can get quite grouchy with him if he's not in the mood. He also gets jealous!

Hey #catlovers and #astrologists of #Mastodon! I would really like your help with something. My cat Danny's one-year #AdoptionDay is this Sunday, the 15th. Unfortunately, we will never know when his real birthday is, and I feel he deserves to celebrate both a birthday and an Adoption Day because that's just the kind of special guy he is!
