Surprised to see a Maltese registration flying out of #YHZ, but apparently Air Transit leases two 738Ms from SmartLynx Malta during snowbird season! #ADSB #ADSBx

Not actually #opendata, but still this is an unwelcome development.

The #opendata network that powers #ElonJet, which automatically monitors where the Twitter and Tesla CEOβs plane is at any given time, and countless research and journalistic projects that use this data to uncover how oligarchs, dictators, and the otherwise well-heeled move around the globe.
But in January, the CEO and owner of #ADSBx sold the site to a private equity firm based in Boston. https://www.forbes.com/sites/cyrusfarivar/2023/02/02/adsb-exchange-flight-tracking-elonjet/

It looks like maybe ADSBexchange has dropped at least ~2000 feeders in 48 hours?
I know I made screenshots of this about 9 months ago, but struggling to find them.
Anyone else have a feeder count from before the JetNet acquisition?
anyone keeping track of the salting / spoofing of ADSB feeder data to ADSBexchange?
I've been watching ADSBx for 30 minutes since I first read about the DDoS reports & I have seen no evidence of DDoS or flight numbers decreasing.
I do see several people reporting they are disabling their feeders (I haven't....yet) so perhaps the reports of DDoS are not what they seem?
Just asking a question / reporting my own observations from NL.
ADSBx sold for 8 million dollars to JetNet.
One would think he could buy his 10K feeders 400 dollars of ADSB hardware to share in the profit & say thank you for building ADSBx to what is is. Would still leave him personally with 4 million, which is still a fsck-load of cash in his pocket.
But somehow, I feel like all the feeder community, the open data community, the open source community are all getting screwed in this.π

#ADSBExchange has been purchased by private equity.
If you're not aware, #ADSBx was the only open, free and uncensored ADSB aggregator. The owner/operator took a payout. People who have been feeding the service for years with a #RTLSDR receiver got nothing.
