Dear home solar ads,

You suck. I don't rent my electricity. I buy the quantity I need with an expected uptime and regulation with various fixed costs. Stop claiming that an electric bill is rent.

Idk who provides your marketing money but you obviously have too much and definitely scummy advertising. Your understanding of basic concepts like purchasing models leave me mistrustful of what kind of payment plan you'd lock me into if I signed up.

Just tried to read a post on The Mary Sue. For the first 15 seconds, it looked fine. Then, the ads loaded.

Website designers for these sites need to do better.

@boilingsteam True, I suppose. What I hope remains is the ability to block instances who go that route. Unlike twitter, where I have to view the ads because the whole thing "is the instance", federation gives that control back to users/instances. Hopefully, also, users of various instances realize that pitching in to help their community also happens so they don't need ads. #stayfree #dontshowmeads #adssuck #federatedandfree
