I’m trying to turn over a new leaf. First steps include reducing adult beverage intake to 0-1 a night and severely cutting down after-dinner snacking. So far, so good. I had one beverage and honestly would’ve been okay with none. But man oh man, when I tell myself “no snacking,” I suddenly desperately want freshly popped popcorn with a liberal dose of cheese powder. My glass of water isn’t the same. I just did something very grown up for the first time in my life. I am in overwhelm over some bad medical news and have no one to share it with. So I made myself a mixed drink to self medicate, without anyone else to drink with.

Fyi I used Bombay Sapphire gin in a kind of bloody mary because that's what I have. With horseradish, lemon juice, cayenne and worcester, it's very tasty. #adultbeverages
