MWCOG is finalizing its Regional Housing Equity Plan, which encourages #ADUs & free bus transit for low-income residents, but not the data collection and down payment assistance that #Loudoun reps pushed for.

“There are so many people who are in rental spaces right now who’ve been in rental spaces for 10, 15, 20 years, and while a low interest loan is helpful to them, what they really need is a closing cost and down payment program,” said Loudoun Chair Phyllis Randall.

FYI, the guidance page for Freddie & Friends related to ADU financing. If you are looking at building make sure to point this out to your loan officer; in Michigan they are almost certainly never dealt with this before.
