Two things that have slowed my #Mastodon growth since the whole #Twitter #Elon thing:

1. Loads of popular ex-Twitter accounts hogging all the attention and generally being more interesting than me. I think #hashtags you use tend to get more drowned out now by more people using the same ones.

2. I no longer use #AdvancedMode all the time because of all the extra users have made things go a bit slowmo. So I don't see random stuff on the #FediTimeline much anymore

There are way more settings if you enable the multi-column #AdvancedMode, if you're curious.

I've got it on #AdvancedMode (because I'm so advanced) and my computer is only going whirr-whirr a little bit.

I do prefer advanced mode. It's much better for scrolling and reading notifications at the same time. (I can do that because I'm cross-eyed)

But after all those people came it got so busy here and my computer (or maybe #Firefox) couldn't take the load and it all went slow-mo.

I think it's a bit better now. I think many of the new comers have gone back to Twitter.

#AdvancedMode is better for scrolling whilst checking your notifications.

On #StupidMode every time you check your notifications, it sends you back to the beginning of your timeline.

I too just learned about #advancedmode. I guess that solve the issue of me missing #TweetDeck dearly.

I don't see why there are people on twitter who are claiming mastodon is hard. On #StupidMode -- that's the alternative to #AdvancedMode isn't it? -- After looking at notifications I seem to keep ending up on the #Explore tab.

And I'm like, how the fuck did this get in my feed?

Of course the pictures are bass ackwards but you get the idea.

Also, this has nothing to do with #advancedmode but I suggest you check that box and try it out while you are in there.

It gives you a four column overview with different timelines, DMs, Favorites etc
visible all at once.

Ok so I'm struggling with getting the #regex working on the Home feed. I'm also not sure if I can pin a second fully unfiltered Home feed. It doesn't appear so.

I'm using the #webinterface in #advancedmode
Does anyone have any advice?

#Newbies...If you are using the web client, after you get the hang of things, check your settings for #advancedwebinterface then pin columns to get a Tweetdeck-like interface.

For new #Mastodon people used to #tweetdeck, look into #advancedmode.
Not the same as tweetdeck, just like mastodon is not the same as twitter, but it feels like home.
