I bought two cheese advent calendars from Aldi for DH & me. So far, we've had to play catch-up more often than not. :blobcatreach:

Day 12 of Drinking #Aldi’s #Wine & #Cheese #adventcalendars So You Don’t Have To: a ‘Vino Rosso’ from ‘D’Italia’ (as opposed to Italy?) with vintage cheddar. This red blend smells like… gasoline. The cheddar is just a standard-issue white cheddar. The overall impression is of an afternoon spent working on my car, and forgot to wash my hands before eating.

Days 10 & 11 of Drinking #Aldi’s #Wine & #Cheese #adventcalendars So You Don’t Have To. Day 10: A #merlot from Macedonia with ‘truffle’ cheddar; day 11: a white blend from Hungary with black pepper #gouda (we’ve been waiting for the return of Gouda!). The white blend is surprisingly sweet , and the ‘truffle’ cheddar has apparently just been marinated in truffle oil.

This is a rough one, gang. I shouldn’t have let them pile up, but I couldn’t bring myself to do Day 10 yesterday.

Days 8 & 9 of Drinking #Aldi’s #Wine & #Cheese #adventcalendars So You Don’t Have To. Day 8 is a Cabernet Sauvignon with Double Gloucester; Day 9 is a Rosata with Red Leicester. (No Gouda? they’re breaking their streak, here) I quite like the Day 8 pairing: substantial, full-bodied. Day 9 tastes like a watered-down port, and I’m not entirely sure the cheese isn’t actually a mislabeled cheddar. Hrm.

Time is Drunk.
