Up at FAT(Fresno Fire Airbase) Neptune’s T03 was Wheels Up and on its way 4 days ago for the our fire season in the area. LAT T03 will be working with partners at CalFire –Fresno Air Attack Base. First Officer Jerome Peeren and Captain Christian Holm will be joined by Crew Chief Jacob Reaves and Second Mechanic Kent Dexter. As far as the VLATs (very large air tankers) the 4 10tanker DC-10’s home base is in Albuquerque…Tanker 911 left LakeCity Florida on 4/11 and went to Arizona…Tanker 914 is on the tarmac in Roswell NM…soon the aircraft will leave for Albuquerque for maintenance and prep for the #fireseason2023

Here’s my favorite video from the #wildfire season 2022…reflecting the incredible VLAT DC10 from 10tanker in Albuquerque. These air attack fire crews are amazing. This vid was captured by T.J Maltby while the VLAT was working on fire 1148 in #Texas. While I hope the #CaliforniaWildFires are minimal I always feel safer with these very large air tankers on the tarmac at #McClellan in Sacramento
