I'm reminded of this paper that describes the physics of in flight. (TL;DR they move their wings at about 230Hz in broadly horizontal figures of 8 rather than flapping up and down)

Fascinating application of theory.

For the sake of it, a photo of the original prototype Aptera at an event in Palo Alto in 2009. Although brilliant for its time, it’s also marvellous to see how much better the current Delta version is.
