In Australia, Dr Tingting Song and Professor Ma Qian have been doing some incredibly clever things with 3d printing titanium. Their process removes the need for vanadium and aluminium and uses oxygen and iron instead. There's more work and testing to be done, but that's extremely exciting.

New Project Turning Dead Taxidermy Birds Into Drones 2023.

Researchers are exploring ways to use dead animal bodies to re-engineer them as drones, just like in a SCI-FI movie, but it is not a movie.

The study lead by Mostafa Hassanalian and his colleagues at the public university New Mexico Tech , whom presented their project at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics’ SciTech Forum in January, 2023.

Probably contentious, but I really miss Concorde. The kids used to rush outside to see her as she flew over each evening. Sadly, I never got to fly on her, but I did see the one in the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York (https://www.heritageconcorde.com/new-york).
